Throughout people’s lives, they pick up things and lessons along the way. Most people of us try the make the most of their time on this earth and Dr. Saad Saad is no exception. He has spent his life honing his craft. The doctor was not born with silver spoon in his mouth, but managed to create a fruitful and very accomplished career over the past five decades.
The pediatric surgeon learned a lot of lessons from mentors in his life that he carried throughout life. His first mentor who was his father, taught him the value of hard work, a proper education, and persistence. Dr. Saad Saad lives in the United States in Eatontown, New Jersey. Although he lives here, the pediatrician was born across the world in Palestine.
His childhood took an unexpected turn one day that ripped his family apart for a while. The 1940’s was a time of big changes, especially in Palestine. Saad Saad, his mother, and seven other siblings were instructed to get on a bus immediately. They did not have time to go home, pack any belongings, or even tell Dr. Saad Saad’s father that they were leaving. They just had the clothes on their backs and nothing else.
The family were transported to the West Bank, far away from home. After work, the pediatrician’s father came home to an empty house. He searched for them far and wide, but could not find them. Eventually, he paid a hefty amount to a man with a boat to bring him to his family. At last, they were reunited! This was a huge learning lesson for his father to never give up. Eventually, the family moved to Kuwait and he got work as a petroleum mechanic. This is when things turned around for the family.
Dr. Saad Saad learned to make the best of his life from his father. He worked incredibly hard, got a medical degree from Cairo University, and made a successful and lasting career as a pediatric surgeon. He accomplished his medical residency and training in the United States.
The next mentor for Dr. Saad Saad would be America’s best pediatric surgeon, Dr. H Biemann Othersen. Through his training, Saad Saad learned how to care for patients properly. He learned to treat them with the upmost care and equality.
